In today's session we had the opportunity to talk with Multi Camera director James Langton in which his credits include (Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen and Educating Essex), during the talk I had the opportunity to talk with Jamie at length about his work about managing a mixed live event.
One of the very questions I put to him was about how when having external crew you haven't worked with before how do you keep to your creative vision.
He talked that as director about the importance of making sure that your team is onboard with the idea and that they have a clear understanding of the idea and that whenever you are directing that you need to have a good work ethic to be persistent and good and effective time management is a good trait to have as a director?
Moreover, it was important that he discussed for me personally about how presentation is a critical element of getting picked up and getting your foot in the door, he talked about the persistence of being keen and that if you can't meet the trade you target be willing to be adaptable.
Across this project and throughout this entire process, I feel that his talk has really linked with my career progression up to this point that originally, I felt lost about the director of my personal progression, I now feel my skills have more adapted to the direction of a director/researcher/producer.
I feel that going forward I want to seek to push forward and learn more persistently about how I can learn how I can break down the next barriers and get caught with production companies and getting my cv and portfolio to the professional level I would like to reach by the end of the third year.
