Production 2021 (A Year in Review) The learning curve for 2022 and beyond.

s0306128

Throughout this year, I have been seeking to identify my key attributes as a developing creative student, across the course of 2021, I have had continuous opportunities to discover more about the industry and learning about the adaptability of situational pressures, over the year on of my primary production scheme's had be working as a lead camera operator on behalf of BT Sport for Grimsby Town football club.

During the time I have up to now experienced on behalf of working with BT, I have learnt about how lateral movement can break the shot, originally many of the movement I made were somewhat jumpy of hard when zooming in/out, consequently I talked with Liam about how to improve the visual style the pieces that were filmed. consequently I have now been able to stabilize shot with better camera focus, but additionally having better consideration of the tracking action.

I have looked at previous BT sport coverage I have filmed and across each week, I have made note upon adapting certain style types that I have seen other camera op's use throughout the league this has ultimately given my footage and overall knowledge a greater depth as I can look at different styles and break down the key attributes and accompany them to my style as a videographer.

Moreover, across the latter months of the year, I had the opportunity to work on the independent production Three Day Millionaire directed by Jack Spring and slated for release in 2022, during the production, I was able to grasp many different actions of how the industry worked, many of the skills I learnt focused on creative thinking, affective communication between the department's and moreover being able to multi-task.

During the production, I was able to take away how a runner is able to act a lifeline to the production, my main interest was to seek about how the role of an AD works during the production I was able to work closely with Dan Smyth (3rd AD) on the production, much of the advise I was able to get and view was the preparation of knowing as much as you can across departments and understanding the requirements of those around you and free thinking ahead of issues developing.

Hence, as I have continued in my own practise, I now more commonly use a production schedule across projects alongside a calendar this gives me clearer objectives of my daily routines and deadlines for work, more effectively this gives me a greater amount of time break down and constructively work to a higher standard as I can have a better focus across the range of projects.

In the concluding section of the year, I have had the creative opportunity to work with three fantastic clients in (Mind Your Paws, Melissa Makes Things and The Viking Ramblers) across all three projects that have been undertaken.

I found that the creative freedom of adapting the situation very effective across all these projects research really helped me to grind out the creative looks I was looking to display, as videographer I found that the most intriguing project was MYPK the simple fact being I was creatively freedom to convey the look and vision of displaying simple expressionism.

This gave me a greater need for the look for which I wanted to convey in showing the bonding joy of the life and experience that customers can have faith with the advertisement produced on behalf of MYPK.

In conclusion, across the creative process I have carried out across the 2021 period, I have seen my skills be more adapted towards the creative research skills, as I feel that I don't lean heavily towards the enhancement of practical camera skills.

Moreover as I go forward into 2022, I am looking more specifically at adapting my production skills toward research and production so I can build up these key area's but focus more on the development I see myself now directing myself towards in the form of producer.
