In continuation with covering work for GTFC, on behalf of the BT Sport (National League Highlight Coverage) as part of advanced practise I seen slight improvements to my work this has include the way that tracking and panning has helped cover movements such as zoom in and out.
I had previously thought that my main skills as operator weren't reflected properly as I felt many movements appeared more abruptly, I have felt from the feedback I have received from production staff I have been working with that slowing the way in which I prep shot movement has resulted in a marked improvement to my camera based skills and the presentation of the work the is distributed to the wider audience .
The shots now feel more grounded and have a stronger level of steadiness in how they tell story through having the ongoing actions central and keeping the shot slightly wider during closer goal mouth action and further during run of play (i.e. player instruction, manger taking to player prior to game or after), this has allowed me to build more of a structured narrative when filming. and has caused the presentation to improve.
However I need to be considerate of the exposure and set up , I want to continue by ensuring that my shots are clearer and that the balance of the the person(s) in shot are in the central third of my shot as I feel sometimes I still loose them, so I will continue to focus on ensuring that tracking and shot composition are put on my agenda to work on in future work on the highlights show. and ongoing practise is managed effectively.
